The song serves as the fourth single to Belly’s third studio album, See You Next Wednesday. “Better Believe” may have been a throwaway from The Weeknd’s March 2020 chart-topping fourth studio album, After Hours, in which Belly co-wrote most of the tracks on. His stage name of Belly/Rebellyus was derived from the term “rebellious”. He first appeared on Massari’s third single “Rush the Floor”. His first solo single “Pressure” (featuring Ginuwine) and his debut album, The Revolution, were released in 2007. The double disc album was divided into two sections: “The People” and “The System”. “The People” contained more in-depth songs, such as “History of Violence” (produced by Whosane?), “Follow Me”, and “Revolutionary”, where he challenges his listeners to discover the facts regarding the Middle-East situation.
