In an interview with NME, Piri discussed the meaning of the song: "“Soft Spot” is about falling for someone and being unsure if they feel the same, but still having no way to stop yourself – but with optimism that it will all work out." Piri: “Yeah! PinkPantheress DM’d us actually to say that she loved ‘Soft Spot’ and she thinks the beat goes stupid! 1) piri is UK dance artist who blew up on Tiktok in 2021 with her single 'soft spot' earning praise from artists such as Charli XCX. She signed to Polydor with her boyfriend at the time Tommy Villiers and the duo released their mixtape 'froge.mp3' under the moniker 'piri & tommy'. Influenced by artists such as Disclosure, MJ Cole, Kaytranada and pinkpantheress. Their blend of DnB, disco, pop and UK Garage was an instant success.
