403

403 is a Japanese heavy metal band (as well as the leader's name) that sings mostly in English and appear to be heavily influenced by the power metal genre. 403 (Kazuki) started producing music in March of 2000 based in Tochigi Prefecture. They self-release on their own label "Team-7" managed by Tetsushi Watanabe (1024). Several of their songs are titled after heavenly bodies and effects such as the Northern Lights, Polar Star (North Star), and the Southern Cross. The official name of the band is 403, though it was previously thought to be 403 Forbiddena due to their website's title "研究室403号室 -Forbiddena-" (Laboratory Room 403 -Forbiddena-), which was also a play off the common "403 Forbidden" message sent by Web servers. 403 (Kazuki), Hatanaka, and 1024 were all friends in the same high school, where 403 (Band) was formed. In 2003, they became famous on the web as their songs were used in Clairvoyance's flash video series "Nightmare City". 403 released a CD titled "N.E.W.S." that included their popular songs Southern Cross and Northern Lights at the summer Comiket in August 2006. It also had some of their Eurobeat style songs, as well as their hiphop style Gate of UTK as a bonus track. In 2009, they released a new CD, "Heart" on April 03, that included a rerecording of Northern Lights as a bonus track. Heart (the song) also featured Hatsune Miku as backing vocals. 403 are currently planning a third album yet to be named. You can find most of their tracks officially downloadable for free at their muzie profile or their soundcloud. Their radio broadcast is held on their ustream channel.
