Akif İslamzadə

Akif Qadir oglu Islamzadeh was born in 1948 in Baku in a family of musicians. At the age of 12, Akif Islamzade, the first child of singer Sara Gadimova, performed Agabaji Rzayeva's song "Choban Kara" as a soloist of the children's choir of Azerbaijan Television and Radio. This song is still stored in the "Golden Fund" of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Company. Akif Islamzade, who started performing in 1972 as a vocalist of the Rashid Behbudov Song Theater, graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy in 1979. He is a consumer accountant by profession. In 1976, he started working in Tofig Ahmadov's symphony orchestra at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. After military service, he became a vocalist of the Azerbaijan State Concert. In 1992-1993, he was the head of the main Culture Department of Baku city. After six months of treatment at the Oncology Center, one of the singer's vocal cords was removed during surgery.
