Anchor in the Valley

Anchor in the Valley is an early alias/project for singer/songwriter Kelsey Waldon, from Barlow, Kentucky. Barlow is located at the very Western tip of Kentucky and is very close to both the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Waldon has been writing songs and playing guitar since she was 13. Her main musical influences come from artists such as The Beatles, Neil Young, and Emmylou Harris, and from eras such as the 60's soul movement, 70's singer/songwriter movement, 50's rock and roll and 1960's and 70's Country and Western Music. Anchor in the Valley's first album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Phil Harris at Battle Ridge Studios in Nashville, TN and features 10 original songs written by Waldon herself. Don't give up on Kentucky yet… "Waldon's delicate voice mixes well with the old time instrumentalization. This is not quite the Delta, and not fully the Low Plains, the music skirts all around the south while remaining fresh at each turn." – DayBowBow-Dallas, TX Read more on Last.fm.
