Baptiste Trotignon

Born in 1974, this young pianist, after studying classical piano, moved to Paris in 1995, and decided to devote himself to jazz. Having founded his own jazz trio (1998) - with Clovis Nicolas (double-bass) and Tony Rabeson (drums) - Baptiste Trotignon asserts himself as a leader. Discography (As Leader): 2000: « Fluide » (Naive), with Clovis Nicolas & Tony Rabeson. 2001: « Sightseeing » (Naive), with Clovis Nicolas & Tony Rabeson. 2003: « Solo » (Naive). 2005: « Solo II » (Naive). This new solo opus is a natural continuation of the first one, confirming, jazzman’s distinctive sound and style. Discography (As Co-Leader): 2005: «Trotignon – El-Malek» (Naive). A superb quartet album under the joint leadership of Baptiste Trotignon and David El-Malek. 2006: « Flower Power » (Naive).
