Courtney Murphy

Courtney Murphy emerged in late 2004 as one of Australia’s most promising new performers. During the top rating season of Australian Idol, television audiences around the country cheered on the guy with the big soul voice from the West, eventually placing him a respectable third in the national competition. By the time Courtney Murphy had finished up with Idol it was clear that his career in the spotlight would be ongoing; his playful sense of humour, as well as his top notch musical ability brought him the respect and recognition of many of his heroes in the Australian music scene, quickly moving on to a touring production of Grease with John Farnham and guest appearances on a number of nationally broadcast programs such as Good Morning Australia, Rove Live, Spicks and Specks and many more. Following his wedding in late 2005, Courtney Murphy began work on his all-important debut album, tentatively scheduled for release in early to mid-2006, an album he promises will feature all the trademarks that audiences have come to love from his music. From 2004 through 2005, Courtney has appeared on GMA Network 10 as a performing artist, as himself for Street Smart Barron Films and on The Larry Baxter Show 92.9FM Radio with his Musical Challenges amongst others, showcasing his enormous talent.
