Danger Mouse & Jemini

Ghetto Pop Life is the debut album of producer DJ Danger Mouse and rapper Jemini. It was released in 2003 on Lex Records and also featured Tha Alkaholiks, The Pharcyde, J-Zone and Prince Po from Organized Konfusion. In 2004 a re-print of the album was released, in which 3 tracks were added, which included tracks featuring Tha Alkaholiks and Cee-Lo which were taken from the 26 Inch EP. This was a US only release. Lex Records also released three EPs with tracks (and remixes of tracks) from the album: Take Care Of Business EP, Conceited Bastard EP and the 26 Inch EP. Moreover there was a special promotional CD, the Ghetto Pop Mix, a mixtape with short remixes of the tracks from the album fading into each other, along with a couple of new exclusive tracks. 'Kill Your Heroes', A second album from the duo was due to be released in November 2006 on Lex Records but has yet to appear. In August 2023, their long-shelved second album Born Again was finally released. The album was recorded between 2003 and 2004, but never released. The success of Danger Mouse's collaboration with Black Thought in 2022 renewed interest in his previous collaborations with Jemini, leading to the release of the album. Read more on Last.fm.
