Dr. Ozi

Dr. Ozi, real name Niket (Nix) Chohan, is a bass music producer currently based in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Ozi creates dubstep, tearout, electronica, ambient and jump up. The project initially started as a duo, with Christian Boyd leaving in late 2015. Since 2006, Dr. Ozi have been breaking moulds. From Chris and Nix's humble beginnings in Brampton, Ontario, the duo have been making bigger waves and bigger noises than any that have been heard before in the Toronto Electronic scene. A loyal following of young fans had formed around the pair of innovators right out of high school; Dr. Ozi started producing with exciting Electro pouring out of their speakers, and as Chris and Nix evolved their sound, so did the genres around them. Bringing across their screeching highs and intricate basslines, the pair moved their focus to a just-blossoming Dubstep and, within no time, their sound was being heard in clubs and bars across Toronto with an online presence that grew with every drop. Releasing tracks with unprecedented speed, whole features on music websites and Dubstep forums were being dedicated to the unique sound of their original work. Over the past 13 years, Dr. Ozi has grown from strength-to-strength, with his music earning him support from the likes of Zomboy, Skrillex, SKiSM, Getter, Snails, Nero, Slander, Adventure Club, and many more of the scene’s most influential and well-respected tastemakers. Known for bringing a new wave of undeniably heavy yet sleek productions to the forefront of the scene, his colorful and rich palette of sound design has landed him releases on Buygore, Never Say Die, NSD: Black Label, Firepower, Uplink Audio, and more, not to mention tours across North America, Europe, and Australia supporting both Zomboy Outside of touring. Dr. Ozi has had 13 #1 releases on Beatport and a total of 50 tracks in the Top 100 (4 breaking Top 10) with over 5,300 days spent in the charts. With a loyal Spotify & Apple Music following amassing millions in total plays, Dr. Ozi is certainly showing no signs of slowing down. Read more on Last.fm.
