Emilio Kauderer

Emilio Kauderer is an Argentine musician, and score composer who has worked extensively in the Cinema of Argentina Latin Music. Kauderer was born in Argentina. He performed as a classical pianist and then engaged in rigorous composition and conducting training at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory on a full merit scholarship. Upon his return to Argentina his chamber compositions were performed by the Camerata Bariloche. Emilio's Wind Quintet "Danzón" won the Yamaha-Promusica Award in 1987. He began work in the Cinema of Argentina in 1980, composing for the film La Discoteca del amor. He had produced the soundtrack to films such as Plata dulce (1982), Abierto de 18 a 24 (1988), Al filo de la ley (1992) and Asesinato a distancia (1998). Emilio Kauderer also composed the music score for The Patriots,(winner, San Diego Film Festival 2002), Friends & Lovers with Robert Downey Jr. and Stephen Baldwin, and A Place in the World, 1993 Oscar Nominee for Best Foreign Film. Emilio’s music has been featured on several episodes of "Life With Bonnie," "Resurrection Boulevard," and "Dead Like Me", among other television series. His recording Maromas can be heard currently on KCRW and is part of an electronica project, "Bajo Fondo Tango Club," produced by Gustavo Santaolalla which was recently released by Universal Records. Emilio’s classical work includes his First Symphony, which was featured by the National Symphony of Argentina, and the Honduras National Symphony this past summer and received enthusiastic reviews. Emilio composed the music for the videos for Ricky Martin’s "Livin la Vida Loca" tour (2000) and collaborated with Jon Secada, Thalia, and Hot Karl in other projects. Emilio Kauderer collaborated recently with Stewart Copeland in composing a song for the upcoming "Stomp" album and the soundtrack for "Spyro," a game on Sony’s Playstation 2. Mr. Kauderer scored the music to the movie El secreto de sus ojos (2009) which won Best Foreign Language Film of the Year at the Oscars (2010). Read more on Last.fm.
