Erase

There are at least four artists with this name 1. ERASE project saw its origin by the fusion of musical experiences related to quite different musical genres: part of the band, distinctly modern metal, and the other part, much softer, leading to a mixture of styles and ideas that translates into an original synthesis. A personal take on bothe extreme and non-extreme musical worlds, with ideas both heavy and light, dense in atmosphere and musicality. For us, it's not about creating a musical mix, but rather the idea and the common goal of creating sounds as fresh and accessible as they could be, but without denying the intricate roots of the bands' musical preferences, witch form the soul and constitutes the basis of that texture that makes ERASE and its music credible and original. 2. Erase is a metalcore christian band with a positive message. They released an album entitled "Mental Overload" on 1996. This album presented metalcore at its finest. 4. The meeting of the musicians from „ERASE” band took place in the University of Music in Wroclaw in 2005. The long-lasting discussions, exchange of experiences, dozens of chess rounds, and most of all, seeking for common aesthetic and conceptive patterns bore fruit in arising of the duet: Michał Trela – drums and Gerard Lebik – saxophone. They realized that the idea of their music based on linear saxophone patterns and polyrhythm deriving from free jazz tradition can be expanded to achieve the completeness of the sound. Thus, the appearance of the third member of the band, double bass – Jakub Cywiński, raised on the modern classical music and infatuated with stable grooves joined with neo-bop walkings led to full crystallization of the assumptions of the „ERASE” which are bound up with the combination of the rhythmical layer and improvisation of the free jazz conception, along with the modern classical music conception of melody and form. ERASE co-operates with the trumpeter Piotr Damasiewicz, escalating its sound with this additional color. Read more on Last.fm.
