Hühnerfriedhof

Hühnerfriedhof is a German Powertrio from Düsseldorf, Germany. The band plays a mix of Rock, Fusion, Funk & Jazz with German lyrics (most of the time - some songs are instrumentals). Founded in 1995 by guitarist Thorsten Praest (Coldseed) and bassplayer Michael Hambloch (Sexells, Assassin) who had been working together in the hardrock-band Riot Act since 1991. In Hühnerfriedhofs original lineup Jens Schindler played the drums. He left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Daniel Sanleandro (Tierra Negra). In the first few years the band plays a lot locally and then in 2003 releases the album „Zieh’ Dich aus“ (German for: "Undress yourself") which is accepted well bei either critics and listeners and helps the band to reach more people. 2006 the band is asked to write, perform and produce the motion picture soundtrack for "Null-Zwo-Drei-Eins" (0231), a film featuring Willi Thomczyk, Dustin Semmelrogge, Markus Knüfken, Julia Beerhold, Rene Heinersdorff and Stefan Lehnen. The film is in cinemas from late 2006 and has its premiere on 2006/12/11 in Dortmund at Cinestar Theaters. 2009 Hühnerfriedhof play during Guitar Fight Club (with Michael Sagmeister a.o. ->http://www.last.fm/event/979834, a guitar-playing competition which Praest had won in the 2008 edition.
