Jacco Gardner

Jacco Gardner [born 9 April 1988 in Hoorn, The Netherlands) is a Dutch neo-psych / baroque pop songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He creates a unique sound by combining the sounds of harpsichord, strings, flutes and other classical instruments with raw psychedelic effects. His music is influenced by artists like Billy Nicholls, Duncan Browne, The Zombies, The Beach Boys, Curt Boettcher and early Pink Floyd. Having released his début 7-inch single in February 2012 ('Clear The Air' b/w 'A House on the Moon' on Action Weekend Records), Gardner's first full-length album, Cabinet of Curiosities, was released to worldwide acclaim in February 2013, thru Trouble In Mind Records (world) and indie label Excelsior Recordings (Netherlands). It made Gardner a bit of a neo-psych / neo-baroque darling overnight. Gardner's live band featured two members of the 1980s inspired synth band Lola Kite: Keez Groenteman (guitar) and Jasper Verhulst (bass guitar). Gardner himself is also a member of Lola Kite's live roster and he produced their second album. Gardner's sophomore album, Hypnophobia (2015), was released, this time thru Excelsior (Netherlands), Polyvinyl (North America) and Full Time Hobby (Rest of World), whereas Burger Records released it on cassette. Gardner's third album marked a dramatic shift in musical style: the spacey and fully instrumental Somnium (2018), an album full of analogue synths and 'cosmic exploration'. Since 2018 Jacco Gardner has been focused two of his side projects: Bruxas and Metius. Read more on Last.fm.
