Kirszenbaum

Kirszenbaum is like Nietzsche raised from the dead and brought up anew by a slavic shoegaze zombie nanny. This award-winning duo hailing from Krakow, Poland, combines a few unrelated musical worlds into one, dark postfolk slavic shoegaze soundscape. Drawing their inspiration from all sorts of literary figures, bands such as Junip or songwriters like Nick Cave, Kirszenbaum is on a constant trip from Tove Jansson to Friedrich Nietzsche and beyond - there and back again, in eternal return. Having started in 2017, Kirszenbaum gave dozens of concerts throughout Poland and Slovakia, appeared at numerous alternative music festivals (e.g. Green Zoo Festival, Folkowisko, Skowronkowy Jarzmin), was aired on some of the biggest Polish radio stations (Radio Kraków, National Polish Radio 1, 2 and 3), won at Kraków Synestezje Festival 2017, gathered awards at Nowa Tradycja Festival 2018 and FAMA Festival 2018, and played as an opening act for renowned Polish artists such as Fisz Emade Tworzywo and Warsaw Village Band, or the Canadian band Yamantaka//Sonic Titan.
