Linn da Quebrada

Lina Pereira dos Santos, professionally known as Linn da Quebrada, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, actress and social activist. Born on the outskirts of São Paulo, in a poor area of the East Zone, she was raised in the interior of São Paulo, where she spent her childhood and adolescence in the cities of Votuporanga and São José do Rio Preto. She was raised by her aunt, within the Jehovah's Witness religion, and at first she thought it was wrong to be LGBT, but when she realized that this was her truth, she faced many prejudices from the family and the religious community when she came out as homosexual. She later came to identify herself as a travesti (english: transvestite). She abandoned her religion, left her mother's house and returned to the city of São Paulo. At this time, she began to dedicate herself to various branches of art, performing in nightclubs, in performance shows. She also devoted herself to music, singing in bars in the area. She often refers to herself as "fag, trans, black and peripheral. Neither actor nor actress, atrocious. Performer and gender terrorist." In 2021, she rectified her documents, officially changing her name to Lina Pereira dos Santos. Read more on Last.fm.
