At 63 degrees North in Trondheim, Norway, arctic rockers Lionhorse pour out valve-driven rock songs with their heart on a sleeve, and a message to their songs. This is the winter soundtrack of True Detective, the lost riff of Pearl Jam, and the raw edges of Neil Young. Weltschmerz The first single from Lionhorse second album was “The Butterfly E F F E C T”. It’s a protest song, with a message to the people: “we’ve fucked too much with Mother Earth. Stand up, take responsibility, or it may be forever too late. This is Mother Earth’s weltschmerz, and it’s up to us to heal it.” -said frontman and singer Eirik Lian in a press release. The first single received radio airplay on national norwegian radio (NRK), and the second single “Little Planet” was playlisted on Norways biggest radio channel NRK P1. Live recording The new album, out in May 2015, is produced by Lionhorse and Lars Lien (Motorpsycho, Sugarfoot, Ida Jenshus). It was recorded in Larsville Studio in the remote mountain village of Stugudal’s old school hut, near to the majestic Norwegian mountains Sylan. The whole album is recorded live, only with vocal overdubs, giving the record a raw energy and warmness. Lionhorse consists of Eirik Lian (vocal/guitar), Håvard B. Ophaug (guitar), Inge Hanshus (drums) and Mads Saurstrø (bass). Lionhorse music is released through RhinoProd Records/MO/Phonfile, with world wide distribution. Read more on Last.fm.
