Melissa Collins

All of the music that Melissa writes is towards a specific person, or idea, or occurrence; her music is very personable in that way. I Fall For You was one of the first songs that she wrote that was actually about her--something that she finds extremely hard to do, "As an artist, I feel like it's so important to know who you are, and that I've got that down, but that it's important to really see what's going on around you, which is why so much of my music is about other people, their behaviour or circumstances." Many of Melissa;s songs, including, "Call My Name", "I Fall for You", and "Little White Lies" originally started off as letters. "For me, it is much easier to write something to someone, honestly, writing what you would want to say to them, than to have to worry about the results of saying something you might not mean, or that might not be ready to be heard just quite yet."
