Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges

Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges, both renowned masters of the Clube da Esquina (in English "Corner Club") movement, wrote and performed several pieces together. The most remarkeable fruit of their collaborative labour has to be the double-album "Clube da Esquina" (originally released on EMI Odeon, 1972), named after the particular post-bossa nova style, which Nascimento, Lô Borges, Márcio Borges, Fernando Brant, Ronaldo Bastos a.o. helped to flourish. The album covers a great number of Clube da Esquina hits, like "Tudo Que Você Podia Ser", "Cais", "O Trem Azul", "Cravo e Canela", "Um Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo", "San Vicente", "Clube da Esquina No. 2", and many others, with the competent backing of some of the best musicians in Brazil. Together with Tropicalia, Clube da Esquina is usually regarded as the Brazilian musical movement that achieved the greatest international resonance in the post-bossa nova period (beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s).
