NoddY RioT (drDJ/Upground Music/Funart Media/ODDmusic) NODDY RiOT performed his own songs since the age of 14, adored the pre-punk Pippi Longstocking so much that there was no getting rid of his silly voices (his own background choir) anymore! Released the 7" 'Puberpunk' of which the name is still used as a logo or on punk/underground/squat party flyers, not calling it underground, it's called Upground Music, calling his sound a Funkypunkpopdubmix. NODDY RiOT won the PARADISO Talent gala at age 15 and performed for KATE BUSH her party, shared the dressingroom with her (him very proud, being a huge Kate fan) and appeared with her on pictures in Dutch popmagazines. Had the lead in an Annie mg Schmidt musical when he was 10, and lived in squats with punks since the age of 12. Most notable was his relationship with ex-girlfriend NINA HAGEN, two colorful punks with silly voices. Was for one TV show (bios bahnhof) in her band, more as a 'Ziggy played guitar' gimmick, he said, 'cause there wasnt a new guitarist yet'. They sang a rapduet together live at the ONE WORLD POETRY FESTIVAL (a rhcp song) and various (gossip/pop) magazines wrote if he was the father of her daughter or not, or that they supposedly got married on the Bahama's. Known for living all over the world (became 18 in New York) and did (or does) some serious clubbing from Danceteria to the Mudclub etc. Recorded the deep dub beat track 'System' long before House or Sputnik. His music is on the American doc.movie 'Sex, Drugs & Democracy' about the dutch constitution, (making it clear that he never used hard-drugs, hardly ever drinks, is known for drinking chocolatemilk at parties and only smokes the Ganja.) On various tv shows with 'BomberjAck' & his own style of club songs. Released the radioshow-like cd 'This HeAvy High' with raving reviews from serious music magazines, (OOR, Fret, Expreszo etc.) making the cd appear in shops all over the world! Recorded from London to Amsterdam, and aside from his own songs he wrote tracks with his musicians Peppz and Tomm. note; guitarist Bram B. has been his musician on most tracks and many a years, and is married to mr.RioT's sister. the album/cd even resulted in a phonecall from Barry Hay (Golden Earring) telling Noddy he's talented and that he likes the cd. Noddy is also known for his looks and outspoken character, modelling and lived happily through the best of the artistic scenes but always keeping his own (timeless) sound. Albums; . In 2008/'09 new songs are expected, ('TOPiC dUb' , 'They Don't Know You Like I Do'(pokerface) and 'I Love You ...x !'') focusing on his love for Reggae DuBwise, Punk and ElectroPop again, and some tracks written together with bandmembers Tom AstroAstrop, Bram B. and Pepsta. tv/radio KROtv,Vara,AT5,Tros,Cult tv,VPRO,salto,Talpa,etc. the 2010 release of NEW WORLD FREEDOM is available and had fantastic reviews also by Mark Moore (S'express/dj/producer) in UK magazine, telling readers to check it out. 2012/2015 - release nODDy rIOt's mixtape "ODDMUSiC" & "If You Can't Say It.....Sing It !!" digitally remastered compilation including previously unreleased tracks, incl. first single and 'You Need More Love'. because of vague/untrustable/corrupt musiclabel/contract, the album was never released, but in full on youtube. 2014 - Noddy performed at the reunion of the dutch tv series Hamelen/Oebele.(original cast) and sang the funny vocal part of the character Sijs. (Stokkermans/Geelen-KROtv) 2016 - lives in Amsterdam, Hilversum and Hollywood, recorded a demo with Hans Vandenburg (Gruppo Sportivo) and checks/auditions new musicians. 2022 - 2 new songs with longtime bandmember Pepsta, "the Sublime" and "Get it? Got it! Good!" ft. Ikarus the Kid. first a romantic track reminding us of his previous track "au revoir, mon cheri" and the second an anti-drugs/addiction song. officially released on the music platforms. reiisues and 2023 "U NEED MORE LOVE" live favorite & previously seen on tv , finally released!! as an anti-fame (with succes!) and pre-internet fame, noddy riot did join instagram nov.2022 re-releases and 2022 editions available on most plaforms, his albums and singles are released thru distribution: Spotify, Apple music, Tidal, Amazone music, i-tunes etc Read more on Last.fm.
