PRODUCE 101

Produce 101 is a reality group survival show on Mnet. It is a large-scale project in which the public (called 'national producers') "produces" a group by choosing eleven members among the 101 trainees from entertainment companies. The public also chooses the group's concept, debut song, and group name. Produce 101 is the nation's first agency-collaboration group project, which brings together 101 trainees from different entertainment companies in South Korea, and 11 trainees shall be selected to form a group. The group shall release albums under the record label of CJ E&M for a year before they are ultimately disbanded according to their contracts. As of 2017, the show has two seasons: season 1 aired in 2015 and was focused on forming a girl group (see I.O.I), while season 2 aired in 2017 and was focused on forming a boy group (see Wanna One).
