Sergio Vega

Sergio Vega (a.k.a. el Shaka ("the Shaker"), real name: José Sergio Vega Cuamea) was a Mexican singer. He was the eighth member of a family of 13 children originally from the Horn Ejido, located on the outskirts of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora. As a child, he moved to the USA where he founded Los Hermanos Vegas with his brothers. After several years the band renamed to Los Rayos del Norte returned to Mexico. The band later changed to Sergio Vega y Sus Shaka’s del Norte. Sergio was a singer of so called narcocorridos, in which the lives of drug bosses are glorified. Such singers are sometimes the target of rivaling gangs. Around the hills of Barobampo he was first chased and then killed in a gunfire on June 26th, 2010. Sergio Vega "El Shaka" was influenced by Conjunto Primavera, Los Rieleros Del Norte, Los Huracanes Del Norte, Los Tigres Del Norte, Vicente Fernández, Antonio Aguilar, Joan Sebastian, Marco Antonio Solis y Los Bukis, Los Yonic's and Los Temerarios and he was a big fan of them before he died and before he was famous and before he was singer first el Shaka was singing Norteños and Corridos Music then later Banda, Norteño and Corridos.
