Silverblueoxide

Silverblueoxide is not a band but a loner (“blue”) who always believes himself to be second best (“silver”), but has the capacity to bind ("oxide") and better when with others. This is the metaphoric alias of Andres Ritche Rojas Sevilla of Palo, Leyte, Philippines. This youthful freelance musician is also a medical doctor, who between wit and talent, he chose wit to pursue a career, leaving “behind” his musical mind unhoned. However, despite his profession and without any formal training in music, he opted some free time converting his ideas into audible masterpieces by single-fingering the keyboard and sometimes strums the guitar even only with four known chords. With music on his bloodline, which his grandfather was a Visayan folk song composer in the 50s and 60s, a number of uncles and including his father, were pioneers and members of the locally famous all male choir, The Rah Rah Rousers (RRR) of Palo, Leyte. On the other hand, his mother was a Rouserette, the all female version of the RRR. In about 2 decades, several musical influences took place. In the 80s, new wave was rampant to which he was introduced to the music world by a long time friend and a colleague, Dr. Hector “Butch” Simacio. By that time he experienced the music of his favorite-to-be band, Duran Duran. In the 90s, he enjoyed acid jazz and R&B spending more time listening to Workshy, Peter White and Warren G. Then anything that sounds like a smooth funky groove (from reggae to ambient to anything club mixed), especially Maxi Priest, Enigma and Texas. Therefore, Silverblueoxide as of this time, comes in a space inspired compositions despite the lack of spatial sound effects (he is just using a portable Yamaha stereo keyboard), just to reflect on what is music like to be in the future. Probably, it could be simply sophisticated or maybe it could be simple as he is, a lonely second best. Read more on Last.fm.
