Stefan The First

22 year old Stefan Renaud, from the small Vancouver Island town of Duncan, first jumped into hip hop early 2014 with his first set of demo tracks after being pushed to record his music by both friends and colleagues. His first single "Into You" gained traction quickly in the local hip hop circuit when Vancouver Graffiti/rap frontman Capital Q of the Stompdown Killaz movement gave his cosign and provided a video and subsequent upload to their channels. After the positive feedback, Stefan along with his producer/engineer and longtime friend Marcus Manhas, went to work on his debut Ep: HTFU (Harden The Fuck UP) named after a comedy skit from the Australian comedy "The Ronnie Johns Half Hour Show" The project displays Stefan's complex and dynamic style over 5 unique and diverse tracks solely produced, engineered and mixed by Marcus. The second track features vocals from up-and-coming Kelowna artist Golden who provides his own unique style without deterring from the overall flow of the song. Professional mastering was done by acclaimed Canadian producer/engineer Dan Weston. (Classified, Sonreal, Shad, City and Colour) With several features lined up for release with other local BC artists, Stefan The First is setting up to solidify his career as a hip hop musician.
