Tehran Vocal Ensemble

Tehran Vocal Ensemble was founded in winter 2005 by Mr. Milad Omranloo. The first year of this group s activity mostly included practicing and performing classical and folkloric songs which were accompanied by a piano. The first performance of this group was in June 2006 at "Andisheh Hall" . Inviting Mr. Omranloo to conduct the choral ensemble of "Bahman Farhangsara (performing arts center)" lead to a joint performance by this group and his at "Fadjr Festival 2006" at "Rudaki Hall". This performance was very well received from the audience. The concert started with two joint parts (a choral by J.S. Bach and a folkloric song) and was followed by 5 other songs that were individually performed by Tehran Vocal Ensemble. The parts were: "Air from the Orchestral suite in G major (J.S. Bach)", "Yesterday (The Beatles)" and three folkloric songs. A new season was opened for Tehran Vocal Ensemble by omitting instruments (singing A Cappella) and singing orchestral and instrumental pieces. The first concert of this group, took place in August 2007 at "Rudaki Hall" after 5 months of constant practice. All pieces were performed by the new system (omitting instruments). The concert consisted of songs such as "2nd movement of New World symphony (Dvorak)", "Valse Triste (Jean Sibelius)", "Love Song Suite (Loris Tjeknavorian)", "Fugue in C sharp minor (J.S. Bach)", "Goodnight (Paul McCartney)" and etc. After this successful concert, the group continue it s activity by performing in "Classical to Modern Music Festival" in November 2007. One of the most critical jobs of this group was performing at music department of "Art University". Singing pieces such as The Barber of Seville Overture (Rossini) and Valse No.2 from Jazz suite (D. Shostakovitch) amazed everyone at the university. The job was done well. After that successful performance at the festival, Tehran Vocal Ensemble was invited to sing in the "23rd Fadjr International Music Festival" in December 2007. The concert was on the festival s opening at "Niavaran Farhangsara (performing arts center)". It contained the the pieces which were practiced and performed in year 2007. In winter 2007, they were formally invited to perform a number of songs on the last day of "Fadjr Festival Ceremony" which was held at "Vahdat Hall". Singing a song named "Razme Moshtarak (P. Meshkatian)" impressed everyone in the hall. The ceremony was shown live on TV (IRIB 4) in the whole country. After that event, Tehran Vocal Ensemble performed a few other concerts and also recorded some songs by the end of year 2007. Becoming 3rd on "Olympic and Singing" contest was another honorable success for the group. The song "The Bird of Peace" was composed by Mr. Omranloo himself. Tehran Vocal Ensemble had another concert at music department of Art University in which they performed their latest parts. Performing pieces such as "Palladio (Karl Jenkins)", "Fugue in G minor (J.S. Bach)", "Shorafarin and Khatereh (A.A. Ghorbani)" and "The Flight of Bumblebee (Rimsky Korsakov)" left the students and the professors there with unforgettable joy and astonishment. Read more on Last.fm.
