Thijs Boontjes

Thijs Boontjes (born Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 14 November 1987) is a Dutch singer, keyboard player and songwriter based in Amsterdam, who first gained prominence in the Dutch music scene as the frontman of the Thijs Boontjes Dans- En Showorkest. The band released a number of singles, their style being labelled as 'Herman Brood meets André Hazes': rock & roll meets the Dutch levenslied, with lyrics in the Dutch language. A full-length début album, entitled Geen Achttien Meer, was released in early 2019. Unlike the earlier releases this album was credited simply to Thijs Boontjes. His older works are now listed under Thijs Boontjes on streaming platforms: the 'Dance & Show Orchestra' moniker has apparently been dropped for Boontjes' recorded output. Read more on Last.fm.
