Tomi Simatupang

Guitarist, singer and composer. Born in Indonesia 1981 and now based in Berlin, Germany. Tomi's music encompasses a variety of styles, touching on jazz, folk, experimental rock, world music, blues, and 80's RnB. His songs range from simple lo-fi guitar/vocal compositions to complex, full band arrangements featuring piano and horns. His sound is evocative of Hendrix at times, as well as Frank Zappa, Cornelius, John Frusciante, Pink Floyd, and Steve Vai's Flex-able. Simatupang's unique perspective and self-effacing wit, coupled with songwriting that is at turns emotional, intense, and playful, make him a worthy listen for lovers of adventurous music.
