Travis Collins

With the release of his second album No Boundaries, Travis Collins is rapidly becoming one of Australia’s most exciting new talents. The handsome young contemporary country/rock performer is being enthusiastically embraced by a new generation of young country fans as well as lovers of great country music in general. Collins’ first kick-start came back in 2004 when he won the Toyota Star Maker Quest. That competition is widely known for helping launch the professional careers of international sensation Keith Urban as well as the likes of Lee Kernaghan, Gina Jeffreys and James Blundell. Before that, he was a graduate of the prestigious NSW Public Schools Talent Development Program – a program which has also helped launch some pretty significant careers, such as those of Human Nature, Paulini and Hi 5’s Nathan Foley After winning Starmaker, Travis released his first album, Start the Car. The album featured two tracks (‘Start The Car’ and ‘I Was Wrong’) which went to #1 on the Country Music Channel’s Top 30 Countdown - largely due to the huge number of requests from viewers. His most recent single, ‘Full Tank’ also made it into the Top #5 and earned him a Best Male Vocalist nomination at the 2007 Country Music Awards Of Australia (the Golden Guitars) in Tamworth. Thanks to the support of Commercial Radio Australia, Travis headed to the US in June to perform in Nashville at the CMA Festival’s Global Artist Showcase. The festival is the most prestigious in country music anywhere in the world and 191,000 people attended. Travis has also released songs in France, Denmark, Germany and the UK and in July 2007 he visited Europe to perform for fans for the very first time. Collins will release his new album No Boundaries on August 18 through ABC Music/Warner Music Australia. It features 12 new recordings including the first single ‘Yeah She Does’ - a song co-written by Keith Urban. The video clip for the song, set for release in mid July features attractive model and socialite Jamie Wright – who is most noted for winning the title of “Miss Bondi Blonde” after being selected by the controversial heiress Paris Hilton as the winner in Sydney on New Years Day.
