Windsor Airlift

Windsor Airlift are an American ambient post-rock band formed in the fall of 2002 in Owatonna, Minnesota. The band originally consisted of brothers Andy and Tony Johnson along with Adam Young. Though Young would depart in 2009, the brothers have continued as a duo ever since. Initially a pop punk band, the trio self-issued their debut release, The Basement EP in 2003. Subsequently the band abandoned nearly every aspect of pop punk as they began writing music influenced by acts such as Unwed Sailor. 'Selections For A Fallen Soldier' followed, with a second volume released in 2004. Early 2005, the band released a four-song EP - 'Hotels'. Additionally two albums, 'Moonfish Parachutist' and Qiu!', both entirely recorded in Young's basement. 2006 saw the release of 'Ocean City Park', while the band went over a lull with Young's musical project Owl City gaining popularity the following year. The group reunited in 2009 to record the album 'We Rule!', which was also Adam Young's last release with the group at the present time. Windsor Airlift played dozens of shows throughout junior high/high school and into their college years, until Owl City signed with Universal-Republic in February 2009. During live performances, they are known to have their backs turned to the audience as a way to put more focus on the music itself instead of them. Tony and Andy continued to write music for Windsor Airlift and have released four full-length albums and a live Lp as a duo. This band's purpose is to glorify their Saviour Jesus Christ in all they do. Without Him they are nothing. He is the reason they live. Read more on Last.fm.
