Кому Вниз

Кому Вниз (Komu Vnyz is a gothic rock/industrial/folk band formed in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1988. The band name is a perestroika-era derogatory pun on the word "Communism". It is literally translated as "Who needs to go down". The band consists of Andrii Sereda, Serhii Stepanenko, Vladyslav Malyugin, Eugene Razin, Vladyslav Makarov From the beginning Komu Vnyz played music that completely did not fit the common canons of Ukrainian rock stage at that time. The lyrics were complex, impressive and full of dark romance which is typical for gothic rock, although even then Komu Vnyz used some elements of industrial energy that has become their hallmark today. Due to the inability to choose a standard term, music critics called their music "urbanized, industrial gothic" as early as 1991. So, Komu Vnyz created their own type of gothic rock and their dark romantic image became the true original image of Ukrainian gothic. In the 1990s, these five men dressed in black tailcoats, high leather boots and silver crosses, brought to the Ukrainian society their dark underground philosophy, and made their own music revolution. In Ukraine and Canada they were called "The Black Cossacks". They were and remain Goths. Komu Vnyz is one of the most professional bands in Ukraine, if not the only one. If you hear them even once, you will be able to single them out among all the noisy creatures of today's Ukrainian rock scene and understand that they are the best. The best on today's Ukrainian underground rock scene, which is small but true. Now Komu Vnyz plays gothic rock/industrial blended with romantic symbolism and age-old traditions, ancient Ukrainian culture and dark Renaissance philosophy, as well as the eternal search for God and the meaning of life. Every song has its original roots and is usually deeply connected with Ukrainian traditions and radiates Ukrainian spirit. That spirit, of which there was not much left, as everything was slandered. But which, thanks to Komu Vnyz, is reviving to a great extent. Komu Vnyz took part in more then 40 music festivals and the judges could not help but celebrate the band, even taking into account their problems with authorities and the existing ideology, because Komu Vnyz cares for UKRAINE and MUSIC and not for those who want to earn something from these concepts. http://komuvnyz.com Read more on Last.fm.
