Тампль

Tampl (Тампль, after French castle Tour du Temple) is a Russian "rock order": a group of composers and performes who create stage musicals. Their plays are based on fantasy fiction and history. Tampl was founded by four artists with background in minstrel music and role-playing fandom: Lora Bocharova, Lina Vorobyova, Natalia Novikova and Antonina Kakovidi. In 2000, they created Temple, a musical about the fall of Knights Templar, which gave the name to their group. It premiered at Zilantkon, Russia's largest role-playing festival. Temple was followed in 2002 by Finrod-song, a play was based on Silmarillion by J.R.R.Tolkien, and Joan of Arc in 2003. Since then, Tampl produced no original plays, but it still performs its three musicals in multiple variations to this day. The "rock order" also staged a new Russian version of Jesus Christ Suparstar and a musical based on An Ordinary Miracle by Evgeny Shvartz. The theatre is based in Moscow and tours around Russia.
