Тангра

Tangra (Bulgarian: Тангра) was a prominent Bulgarian band, formed in 1976 by Konstantin Markov in Sofia, Bulgaria. The first incarnation of the band featured Licho "Stounsa" (Licho "The Stones") on guitar, Anton Bubev on the drums, Alexander Petrunov on vocals. Later on the band featured several famous musicians on vocals, such as Вили Кавалджиев and Васил Найденов. After a short tour in Canada during 1978-1979, the band settled with Chocho Vladovski as a vocal. During this period, Tangra's style changed from hard rock to soft rock. With this line-up, they recorded their debut album - "Нашият Град" (Nashiyat Grad, Eng: Our City). Later on, with a new line-up featuring Стенли as a vocal, the band moved towards the new wave sound. With Stenli as a vocal, the band won its third award at the "Youth competition for entertaining song" in 1985, and soon afterwards moved to Scandinavia and The Netherlands. Tangra split in 1990. Before that they recorded only one album with Stenli - the 1986 "Бъди какъвто си" (Budi kakuvto si, Eng: Be what you are). Read more on Last.fm.
