石川秀美

Ishikawa Hidemi (石川秀美) was born on July 13, 1966 in Chiba, Japan. She tried out for an audition for a program held by famous musician Saijou Hideki. While trying out for the program she took singing lessons and quickly became the star in the eyes of Hideki himself, thus winning the competition. She debuted in 1982 with her single "Yousei jidai" and won a rookie award for it. She maintained a good bit of top 40 hits for her first few singles, but finally broke the top ten with her single "Hey! Mister Policeman" from then on she kept a steady stream of top tens. Unfortunately she never made a number one hit, but she still had many fans and had moderate music sales. She decided to retire in 1990 to get married and raise a family. Her most famous singles are "Yurete shounan", "Motto sekkin shimasho", "Mystery Woman", and "Ai no jumon." Read more on Last.fm.
