"Honey" is a song by American singer and songwriter Kehlani. It was released on October 6, 2017. She first performed the song live at Billboard's Women in Music 2017. The official music video was released on December 4, 2017. "Honey" was written by Kehlani and produced by Geoffro. Kehlani said the song was made using a Geoffro guitar loop with her best friends. Kehlani Ashley Parrish (born April 24, 1995), known professionally as Kehlani, is an American singer and songwriter. Kehlani is originally from Oakland, California where they achieved initial fame as a member of the teen pop group, Poplyfe, which was a finalist on America's Got Talent. Kehlani released their first mixtape Cloud 19, in 2014; followed by their sophomore mixtape You Should Be Here the next year. Their debut album SweetSexySavage was released in January 2017 to mainly positive reception, being supported by the singles “CRZY” and the Suicide Squad soundtrack single “Gangsta”. February 2019 saw the release of Kehlani’s third mixtape While We Wait, which served as a prelude to what would be their second album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. The highly-anticipated album was released on May 8, 2020 to positive reception, with the album cover and music videos being shot in their home due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the time.
