Alessandro Safina

Born in Siena, Italy, Safina found his passion for opera at a young age. His mother encouraged his eagerness by teaching him the history of opera, while his father's love of singing served as an inspiration. The early 21st century saw the rise of this Italian singer who has combined his opera roots with modern-day pop music, to create a striking, hard-to-categorize style. It wasn't until he was late in his teens that Safina became an admirer of pop and rock music, drawing inspiration from such bands as Genesis, The Clash, Simple Minds, and U2. Shortly thereafter, he began to combine the two styles together. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
