Ruby and the Romantics

Tremendously underrated '60s American pop-soul group who lineup featured a female lead vocalist backed by four guys. Brill Building style pop. While their home was Akron, Ohio, they recorded their hits in New York for Kapp Records. They hit number-one in the winter of '63 with "Our Day Will Come" and while none of their follow-ups climbed as high, they were consistently popular in and received plenty of airplay around the New York area.
